Library FAQ

Can I send faxes at the library?
The Library offers faxing service for patrons, both sending and receiving.  Please contact the Library for pricing information.  Fax (419) 547-0480.

Can I make copies at the library?
Black-and-white and color photocopiers are available at the Library.  Copies are $.15 per page (double-sided copies are $.30 each).

Are Golden Buckeye Cards available at the Library?
Patrons may apply for a Golden Buckeye card at the Library's main service desk.  

Does the library do voter registration?
Patrons may register to vote at the Library's main service desk.

I heard that I can get dog tags at the library. Is this true?
Beginning the 2022 year, patrons may register for dog tags at the main service desk during certain times. Please check our website or Facebook for when this service is available.

When are my items due?

CHECK-OUT Period:
21 Days - Books, Audiobooks, CDs, Audiovisual Kits

14 Days - New Books, Playaway Audiobooks, Equipment

7 Days - Magazines, DVDs, BluRays, CD ROMs, Video Games

Library items will be automatically renewed the day before they are due, if possible.  Items which are on Hold for another patron, or have reached their maximum renewal limit, will NOT be automatically renewed.  Renewal limits are:

           0 Renewals - New DVDs and BluRays, Playaway Audiobooks

           1 Renewal - Equipment

           2 Renewals - Other DVDs and BluRays, Video Games, Magazines

           5 Renewals - Books, Audiobooks, CDs

What's my PIN?
Your PIN is usually the last 4 digits of the phone number we have on file for you.

What if I lost an item?
Damaged item fines will be assessed at the discretion of the library administrator.

How do I reserve a book?
As part of the CLEVNET consortium, holds may be placed on items owned by libraries throughout the state. Holds may be placed online, by phone, or by a staff member. There is no charge for this service. We will notify you when the item arrives and ask that you pick it up within 7 days.

Do you deliver?
The library can arrange for delivery to homebound individuals. We also provide delivery service to senior facilities in Clyde. For more information, visit our Homebound Delivery Service page.

Can I return borrowed items when you're closed?
Our convenient drive-up book drops are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  

Does the library take donations of used books and movies?
The Clyde Public Library accepts donations of items to the collections on an "as needed" basis and reserves the right to sell or otherwise dispose of donated materials not used. The following guidelines apply:

-The Library will accept items in good condition only.
-Magazines, Reader's Digest Condensed Books, and Encyclopedias are generally not accepted.
-Donated items are inspected and will not be accepted if they are mildewed, worn, or have sustained smoke or water damage.
-Patrons wishing to receive written acknowledgement of their donation should supply their name, address and the number of books. Library staff will not appraise or indicate a value for the donation.
