- About the Library
Students in 7th grade on up are invited to participate in SPLAT (Superb Public Library Activities for Teens). In addition to a variety of activities, teens also serve as advisors and recommend books, magazines, DVDs, and CDs. SPLAT sessions are offered weekly during the school year on Wednesdays from 3:00 to 4:30 pm. No pre-registration is required.
Help us plan summer activities - our theme: SPLAT, Bringin' Back the Eighties!
Remember that you must have signed two agreements, both of which also need to be signed by your parent - the Internet Agreement (green dot) and the Tablet Use Agreement (red dot) and you must bring the card with you to sign out a tablet at Minecrafters Unite meetings.
February 7 report. If you were there, you know that we are holding classes for some of you to become moderators for our Minecraft Server. We plan to have a Minecraft server available in the library for laptop owners to play together; we also will have Minecraft wireless so that P.E. people can play together. Those of you who signed up for Mod classes will be contacted.
December 6 Report.
The wireless and server problems were solved, and those with laptops were able to play on the world created by OFL (Our Fearless Leaders).
Nick talked, a bit. We projected his gameplay on the big board.

November 1 Report.
First, remember that, if you want to use the library's tablets to play the Demo version of Minecraft . . .
(and it looks like you were able to multiplayer with the demo - those who did that, contact Jill, please, either here at the library or at MMS LRC during lunch on Tuesdays [you need your library card if you are coming from the cafeteria]) . . .
you must have signed two agreements, both of which also need to be signed by your parent - the Internet Agreement (green dot) and the Tablet Use Agreement (red dot) and you must bring the card with you to sign out a tablet at Minecrafters Unite meetings.
I think the 'big kids' need to talk to you more, but everybody just gets in the room and starts playing! So, you need to talk to me before the next meeting - let me know what you want to do, learn, and what would be the most fun.
Nick did a wonderful job showing the new mobs, etc. It was fun watching him in invisibility mode. We need to have a 'club' time or something, where you are not playing the game but communicating with each other.
Kyle was so frustrated - Nick's laptop had died, so they switched to the library's computer to set up the server/wireless modem and that lead to more problems.
But keep bringing the laptops! Next time should be the charm and we should be playing together in the same world.
Let Jill know if you have an account with Minecraft but nothing to bring to play the game on.
Let me know what you want to do!! Thanks for coming!!
